WHAT TO BRING ON YOUR FISHING CHARTER

Once you have booked your fishing charter it is time for you to plan what you will need. You will receive a clean boat, your fishing license, poles, and plenty of bait for every trip. This means that you don’t have to buy anything.

THINGS TO BRING ON A FISHING CHARTER

Clothing – Wear protective clothing to protect yourself from the sun, rain, and wind. Bright-colored shirts such as yellow, orange, blue, green, and green are encouraged for photography. White is fine, but bright sunlight will make your photos look bad. Black or gray shirts are not good for pictures. Don’t expect them to look great. If you want to wear your swimsuit, it is fine. You won’t get wet on our fishing charter boat because it has an enclosed, air-conditioned sitting area. Rain showers may be your only option to get wet.

Shoes and Hats – You can wear whatever shoes you like or go barefoot. We won’t board your cowboy boots that have mud on them or your grass-cutting shoes. For safety reasons, we recommend you wear sandals or toe-protecting shoes. Tennis Shoes, shoes with heels and hats, and clothing that protects skin from the sun. Flip-flops and shower shoes are not the best choice. They stick to the deck and can cause damage to your feet. The best shoes are those with a heel and toe strap. It is okay to go barefoot. However, you should be aware that you could step on fish fins and hooks. While I recommend that you wear shoes that cover at least the tips of your toes in order to keep them safe when going fishing on Myrtle Beach, they are not necessary.

Cooler, Food and Beverages, Snack – A small personal cooler of 48 quarts or less. Food, Drink (beer cans are best). It should not have been sitting in your backyard or on the back of your work truck covered in grease or mud. Please only bring one cooler. There is limited space available onboard so a cooler of 48 quarts or more will suffice to hold your food and drinks. People sometimes grab the cooler from the back of their truck, which may be dirty, oily, or greasy. It is best to wash it or bring a new cooler.

Do not bring Hard Liquor – This isn’t a fishing trip for booze. Drunk people can be a liability. We don’t like to be around them. You can bring beer and wine coolers. You can bring only plastic bottles and cans.

Make sure you bring water or fluids for your family – You will get dehydrated if you don’t drink enough water in the summer or early fall.

Basics – (optional) – Hand Towel to clean your hands after baiting your hook when you’re on a fishing charter in Myrtle Beach. The deckhand will help you bait your hook, so it doesn’t get messy. If you’re baiting your hooks, please wash your hands thoroughly after each use. You won’t have to smear oily or fishy bait all over your rod handles. It is difficult to clean because it dries hard and becomes sticky.

Apply sunscreen as directed – Before you go deep sea fishing, make sure to rub on sunscreen. Avoid using AEROSOL sunscreen spray as it can spread all over the deck and cause slip hazards. It will damage our carpet if it is sprayed inside the cabin. Use the old-fashioned rub on lotion. Avoid aerosols.

Sunglasses – Sunglasses can be helpful when it’s bright outside. I will ask that you take off your sunglasses during photo sessions. Your photos will look better if we can see your eyes.

Bring your motion sickness medication from your doctor – People may cut the prescribed patch in half so that they can share it with others.
